The Ideal Industry Report 2018 has been published

We have published our Ideal Industry Report 2018.

 

Hundreds of our customers including bathroom retailers, merchants and multichannel retailers, completed the survey, which covered their performance, offers and views concerning the industry.

 

The exclusive report which provides bathroom retailers with in-depth market research, is only available to the Ideal Bathrooms’ customers who participated in the survey and offers readers unique industry insights.

 

For the first time, this year’s report includes a section dedicated to showroom displays. Despite the majority of customers saying the biggest challenge their business faces is online competition, the report revealed that retailers believe displays remain a crucial part of the customer’s sales journey, with 62 per cent of respondents reporting displays are ‘important’ or ‘very important’ when it comes to customers ordering.

 

The survey discovered the percentage of companies with a social media presence has increased following the previous Ideal Industry Report in 2017 from 73 to 85 per cent. Interestingly, there has been a 15 per cent decrease in the number of retailers using Facebook, and 20 per cent on Twitter.

 

It was also revealed that traditional bathroom products have seen an increase in popularity, with 28 per cent of respondents saying that over a fifth of their sales came from this style of product. 

 

“It’s our hope that the report provides our customers with industry insights and benchmarking that they can use to help their businesses in the coming year,” said Ideal Bathrooms’ Commercial Director, Danielle Lillis.

 

She continued: “The statistics will allow readers to gain an understanding of a wide range of industry topics and market influencers.

 

“The growth in sales of traditional bathroom products was quite surprising but we do expect this trend to continue to increase in popularity.

 

“This is our second Ideal Industry Report; it’s proven incredibly popular and we plan to continue to publish an annual report to help our customers spot unique opportunities to help grow their businesses.”
